MEDiS - UCA

Lucie Etienne-Mesmin is an associate professor in MEDIS (Microbiology, Digestive Environment & Health) laboratory at Université Clermont Auvergne.
She is a microbiologist and her research activities to better understand the fate of food pollutants or food-borne pathogens (especially in Escherichia coli enteric pathogens) the human gastrointestinal tract and their impact on human gut microbiota by using the potential of in vitro gut models.
Due to the increase involvement of human gut microbiota in many diseases, she is currently working on the development of “disease” in vitro gut models, especially simulating the human colon environment and its associated disturbed microbiota.
