Sharon HUWS is a Professor of Animal Science and Microbiology at Queen's University Belfast. Her main research interests lie in understanding the role that gastrointestinal tract microbiomes play in  food security and environmental impact, particularly within the ruminant sector. Sharon coordinates the global ‘Rumen Microbial Genomics’ network; editor-in-chief for Animal Microbiome and a senior editor for Microbiome.
